Waretown Man Arrested In Barnegat For DWI; Allegedly 'Swerved' Into Traffic

A 44-year-old Waretown man was arrested on DWI charges after he was allegedly swerving into traffic, Barnegat police said.

According to police:

On Saturday, at 9:11 p.m., Patrolman Nicholas Venuto arrested Andre Teyssier for DWI after responding to a report of an erratic driver on Lighthouse Dr swerving into oncoming traffic.

Ptl. Venuto located the Teyssier's black Toyota Tacoma (which met the description provided by the caller) as it was turning onto the southbound entrance ramp of the Garden State Parkway.

Ptl. Venuto observed the vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel and stopped the vehicle on the ramp.

Teyssier was subsequently placed under arrest. He was processed and released with summonses for DWI, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane. His vehicle was impounded for 12 hours in accordance with John's Law.
