Waretown Man Charged in Cop Chase

A Waretown man was in custody after a motor vehicle stop led to a police chase down Route 9.

Lacey Township Officer Dimitrios Tsarnas observed a vehicle with fictitious registration plates and conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of Route 9 and the Oyster Creek Generating Station on April 6 at 10:30 p.m., Chief David Paprota said.

The vehicle, driven by David Donnamaria, 45, of Waretown, fed the scene, Paprota said.

Officer Tsarnas pursued the car to the parking lot of Longshots Bar on Route 9 in Waretown where Donnamaria was arrested, Paprota said.

Donnamaria’s wife and their four-year-old child were also in the vehicle, Paprota said.

Donnamaria was charged with eluding, endangering the welfare of a child and several motor vehicle charges.

He was transported to Ocean County Jail with bail set at $25,000.
