UPDATE: Lanoka Harbor Woman Succumbs To Injuries After Accident In Waretown On Tuesday

Ocean Township police are looking for witnesses to an accident early Tuesday evening at the intersection of Main Street and Bryant Road.

Police responded to the two-car accident at 6:02 p.m. The first vehicle, a 2001 Dodge Ram, was traveling southbound on Main Street approaching the intersection.

The second vehicle, a 2005 Dodge Neon, was heading eastbound on Bryant Road when the two vehicles collided approaching the intersection, police said.

Monica Stroud, 59, Maple Street, Lanoka Harbor, was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River, where she later died of her injuries. The driver of the van - a 30-year-old male from Waretown - was uninjured.

The accident is currently under investigation by Patrolman Steve Mandarine of the Department's Traffic Safety Bureau and Detective Andrew Risden of the Department's Detective Bureau.
