Barnegat Public Works Asks For Patience With Trash Pickup

Garbage pickup in the township has been delayed this week due to a combination of snow, ice and bitter cold termperatures, according to an alert sent out by the Township Clerk's office.

"Trucks and collection personnel are being slowed due to the slippery conditions along with difficulties with trash containers and bags being frozen to the ground," the alert states. "The Township requests that residents be patient as Waste Management is working diligently to collect trash in Barnegat. Safety of their workforce is a priority."

Residents whose trash is not pickup the end of the day on Saturday area are asked to notify the township on Monday. Arrangements will be made to pick up the trash, the alert states.

Township Clerk Sharon Auer can be reached at 609-698-0080 if residents have questions.
