Committee Meeting Agenda Highlights

Bond ordinance for sewer repairs to get second reading

Here's some of what's coming up at the Barnegat Township Committee meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. today. Patch reporter Judy Bendar will be there this evening.

  • Up for a second reading is a bond ordinance to fund repairs to the township's sanitary sewer system in the Settlers Landing neighborhood. The expense will not add to the water and sewer utility's debt, said township administrator David Breeden. The areas of the sewer system in need of repair are: Georgetown and Yoke Court; Georgetown and Deck Street; Deck Street and Jameshollow Drive; Deck Street and Schooner Avenue; Georgetown and Silversmith Court; and Barnegat Boulevard South and Bayside Avenue.

  • The ordinance allowing the township to exceed the municipal budget appropriations limit – not the same as the tax cap – also gets a second reading. Read up on the backstory on that ordinance in this previous story.

  • In the consent agenda is a resolution accepting a proposal for engineering servies for the resurfacing of Hillside Avenue.
