Barnegat voters head to the polls today to fill two open seats on the Barnegat Township Committee, select state representatives, choose who fills a County Freeholder seat and decide on a statewide ballot question. Here's what you need to know.

WHAT'S AT STAKE:

Five candidates are running for the two open seats on the Township Committee. Follow these links for more information on each:

  • Incumbent Republican
  • Incumbent Democrat
  • Republican
  • Democrat
  • Independent

Republicans currently control the Committee with four of five seats; Democrats have the opportunity with this election to win enough seats to have an impact on bonding to pay for projects and other expenses.

In the 9th Legislative District races, .  

Also up for reelection are State Assembly Republicans Brian Rumpf and DiAnne C. Gove, who are challenged by Democrats Bradley Billhimer and Carla Kearney.

Ocean County Freeholder , a Republican, is defending his seat from a challenge by Democrat . 

Voters will also decide on – if a federal ban is lifted.

Here are Barnegat's polling places, as listed by the township.

Double-check your voting location examining your sample ballot, or using the state's online polling place search tool. Here are the details:

  • District #1: Barnegat High School, Bengal Boulevard. All voters who live East of Route 9 to Barnegat Bay and North of East Bay Avenue
  • District #2: Municipal Court Room, 900 W. Bay Ave. South of East Bay Avenue, Holly Oaks, Oak Hill Homes
  • District #3: Community Center, 900 W. Bay Ave., behind town hall. All voters who live west of Barnegat Boulevard, south of Ravenwood Boulevard, east of Deer Run Drive South.
  • District #4: Lillian M. Dunfee School, 128 Barnegat Blvd. Part of Settlers Landing.
  • District #5: Brighton at Barnegat Clubhouse, Brighton Road and Route 72. All voters in Brighton at Barnegat, Pinewood Estates, and off of Route 72.
  • District #6: Lillian M. Dunfee School, 128 Barnegat Blvd. All voters South of West Bay Avenue, West of Gunning River Road.
  • District #7: Community Center, 900 W. Bay Ave., behind town hall. All voters in Ocean Acres, Horizons, the Windward development and Pine Ridge.
  • District #8: Mirage Clubhouse, 1 Esplanade Drive. Voters in Four Seasons at Mirage.
  • District #9: Heritage Point Clubhouse, 11 Westport Drive. Voters in Heritage Point.
  • District #10: Heritage Bay Club House, 100 Sandpiper Road. All voters in Heritage Bay.
  • District #11: Barnegat High School, Bengal Boulevard. All voters in  Brookville Manor, Burr Street, Atlantic Heights Apartments, Rose Hill Road and Rosehill Manor.
  • District #12: Mirage Club House. Voters in Mirage.
  • District #13: Municipal Court Room, 900 W. Bay Ave.
