Long Beach Island Branch Of Ocean County Library Still Closed For Repairs

From the Ocean County Library website:

The Long Beach Island branch of the Ocean County Library is still closed for roof and ceiling repairs, according to Library Director Susan Quinn.

The branch, located at 217 S. Central Ave. in Surf City, was closed on Feb. 10, after an inspection by library facilities staff revealed damage to a section of the interior ceiling.

The building’s facilities were reviewed further later by library facilities staff and the county architect. The initial inspection revealed that a portion of the interior ceiling was damaged due to a roof leak.

The branch was previously scheduled for roof repairs and a contract was awarded on Dec. 4, 2013 to MTB, LLC with the work pending a start date.

“While this branch is temporarily closed, we invite our regular branch visitors to borrow or return materials and enjoy library programs at any of our 20 Ocean County Library branches,’’ Quinn said.

Patrons can also access many resources from their home through the library’s website www.theoceancountylibrary.org or by calling 732-349-6200.

They can also pick up requested items at the Stafford branch of the Ocean County Library located at 129 North Main Street in Manahawkin. The branch can be reached at 609-597-3381.

The book drops located at the Long Beach Island branch will remain available.
