No Democrats Running In Any Long Beach Island Municipal Races

There will be few cliffhangers in today's primary in any of the Long Beach Island towns. It's a near shutout for Republicans, since no Democrats filed to run for any of the mayoral or governing body races.

• Ship Bottom - Republican William Huelsenbeck, W. 13th Street, is running unopposed for the four-year mayoral term. Republicans Edward English, W. 20th Street and David Hartman, Long Beach Boulevard, are unopposed for the two, three-year terms on the Borough Council.

• Surf City - Republicans Francis R. Hodgson, Sr. and William D. Hodgson are running unopposed for the two, three-year terms on the Borough Council.

• Barnegat Light - Republican Kirk O. Larson, E. 13th Street, is running on the Regular Republican Organization ticket for the four-year mayoral term. He is being challenged by Republican Eric Svelling, Central Avenue, who is running on "The People's Choice" ticket.

Republicans Dorothy Reynolds, Bayview Avenue, and George Warr, Bayview Avenue are running unopposed for the two, three-year terms on the Borough Council. Republican Edward Wellington, W. 12th Street, is running for the one-year unexpired term.
