Stafford Goes Out To Bid For $500,000 Liquor License, Report Says

One more business will be able to serve alcohol in Stafford, as the Township Council approved a public sale of a liquor license for May 14, with the minimum bid at $500,000, according to a report in the Asbury Park Press.

The sale will provide a one-time shot of a half million dollars for the township’s revenue, but Stafford council members discussed what type of business the license would allow.

they need the money to cover the cost of the dedication plaques for the new senior citizen banquet centers - when the bill comes due for the centers themselves, expect a few more 'one time shots of a half-million or so' to cover the sudden, and of course unforeseen, secret influx of expenses

This makes it all but certain that only a chain can afford it. Maybe we can get a Ruby Tuesday between Fridays and Applebees because we don't have enough generic mediocre food around
