Bengals Blitz: Gearing Up for the Stretch Run

A look back at the past week in Barnegat High School sports along with a look ahead

The contest against Lakewood was a 14-4 win, which only required five innings of play. While they saved two innings against the Piners, they played two extras in their 2-1 win against the Raiders of Toms River East on Saturday. Barnegat can clinch a share of the division title if  they win their final two division games and Manchester drops their last division game. Barnegat will travel to Lacey for a game a 3:45 game on Monday and have another road trip on Tuesday to Jackson Liberty, again at 3:45. In their final divisional game of the season, the Bengals will host Central Regional at 3:45 on Wednesday.

The Lady Bengals schedule will mirror the baseball teams schedule as well for the upcoming week.

Boys Lacrosse: Barnegat lacrosse takes a big step forward this week, qualifying for the Shore Conference Tournament. After beating Monsignor Donovan 8-6 early in the week, the Bengals fell to powerful Rumson-Fair Haven later in the week 14-2.
