Few Details Given On Recent Layoffs In Stafford Township School District, Report Says

Schools Superintendent Georte Chidiac confirmed the layoffs earlier this month in a prepared statement, saying the action was spurred by budgetary reasons, scheduling changes, declining enrollment and revised district priorities.

40 Layoffs are not a budgetary matter. You don't just realize there is a budget problem and layoff 40 people. It's good to see that the board of education is as transparent as our town council is. Declining enrollment? They didn't know this at the beginning of the year? They realized it now? How incredibly ridiculous is this? While I do not have kids in the school system, I think that it's just another example of poor leadership with the wrong people on the bus....and we need to get those people off.
