Stockton College Students Donate Over $2,500 For Sandy Relief

The dinner was held April 3.

Students from the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey donated more than $2,500 to Superstorm Sandy relief as the result of a dinner and auction held on April 3, college officials said on Friday, April 12.

Hospitality and Tourism Management students in Dr. Michael Scales’ Events Planning and Catering Management class raised the money through a "Restore the Shore" themed event. The funds were donated to the American Red Cross Southern Shore Chapter.

Over 50 prizes were given through the auction, including stays at multiple Atlantic City hotels, restaurant gift cards, themed gift baskets and a gift certificate to the Dusk nightclub at Caesars Atlantic City Hotel and Casino.

The five-course meal was boardwalk-themed, and the decor and entertainment were designed to give guests the feel of the Jersey Boardwalk during the summer.

presented the check to Yvette Soto and Shireen Muldowney of the American Red Cross Southern Shore Chapter, and students will act as ambassadors at the Stockton College Scholarship Benefit Gala at the Revel in Atlantic City on April 27.
