The first night of the 30th Annual Mayor’s Cup Lifeguard Competition was held at the 68th Street Beach in Brant Beach on Friday evening.
Five teams from different areas of Long Beach Township, North Beach/Loveladies, Brant Beach, Beach Haven Crest, Spray Beach and Holgate competed in the first six events with the final events to take place tonight at 6 p.m. in the same location.
At the end of Friday’s competition Holgate and Spray Beach were in a tight race for first place overall with the other three teams close behind.
