A Blessing For A Safe Summer
All lifeguards from the island and mainland are invited to attend the event at St. Francis Aquatic Center today
They guard our beaches, through the heat and storms of summer. Sometimes they save our lives.
The St. Francis Community Center will hold its annual Blessing of the Lifeguards at the St. Francis Aquatic Center at 4700 Long Beach Boulevard in Long Beach Township at 4:45 p.m. today.
All lifeguards from the island and the mainland,friends, family and visitors - regardless of religious affiliation - are invited, according to a post on Barnegat-Manahawkin Patch.
"Please join us as we ask God to watch over the lifeguards who so diligently serve all who use our beaches and pools, the post states. "Come and be part of the wonderful tradition on LBI."
