All Things Chocolate Happening In Long Beach Island

Fundraiser will be held Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Visitors and residents of Long Beach Island who are looking for a way to help preserve a piece of island history and satisfy their sweet teeth are in for a treat tonight.

On Thursday, August 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., The Long Beach Island Museum will host their annual “All Things Chocolate” fundraiser, where $10 will enable visitors to help out with museum preservation efforts, and give them a taste of some of the best chocolate Ocean County has to offer.

Country Kettle Fudge and Ben & Jerry Ice Cream will be on hand to give visitors a sampling of fudge and frozen treats.

Also, according to "All Things Chocolate" cochair Brenda Griffin, the event will feature a chocolate fountain.

"This beautiful building we are in dates back to 1882, which means its always in need of repairs," Griffin said. "This just seemed like a great way to do raise funds to do that."

The Long Beach Island Museum's main objective is to keep the history of Long Beach Island alive through the preservation of artifacts and photographs and through various programs and events promoting the rich history of Long Beach Island. The museum is located at Engleside and Beach avenues.  The chocolate event is $5 for children ages 12 and younger.
