Soaring Temperatures in Lacey

Summer officially starts on Saturday, June 21, but Lacey has already seen the heat. Forecasts say it could reach 89 today.

According to Weather.com, temperatures reached 94 yesterday, which is 13 degrees above the average for this time of year.  They predict the heat wave will break with a thunderstorm tomorrow.

Last year's July heat wave (approximately July 16-19) drew tourists from Northern Jersey towns and the Philadelphia area to the Jersey Shore. Temperatures in several towns throughout New Jersey were hotter than those in Death Valley, California, according to the Star Ledger: 110 degrees in some places.
