Want to help a number of Southern Ocean County schools today?
Then lace up your running shoes, head over to the Mud City Crab House on East Bay Avenue and register for the 'Walk the Causeway' trek from Mud City to Ship Bottom.
Registration time for the 3.1 mile starts at 8:30 a.m., followed by a warm-up led by Ares Athletic Club instructors and the National Anthem by Hadley Magaziner.
All proceeds from event will benefit the Stafford Township PTA, the Southern Regional High School Bridge Walk Scholarship Fund and the Long Beach Island school district PTA.
The Southern Regional High School Marching Band and ROTC, S.T.A.R.T. will lead the walk at 10 a.m. No walkers will be permitted to start after 10:20 a.m.
The walk will end at Waterfront Park in Ship Bottom, where refreshments will be served.
The event is coordinated by the Stafford Township and Ship Bottom police departments.
