Nor'easter To Bring Heavy Rain To Jersey Shore

No snow or significant flooding in the forecast for the days approaching Thanksgiving.

A nor’easter will dump a lot of rain on the region from late Tuesday (Nov. 26) through Wednesday (Nov. 27).

In most areas, the weather will be too warm for snow or ice, and the storm will coincide with an astronomically low tide cycle, so only minor flooding is possible.

Heavy rainfall is expected with amounts up to three inches possible, according to a National Weather Service briefing on Monday. Roadway and poor drainage flooding is likely. The bulk of the precipitation will occur from Tuesday night into Wednesday daytime.

Some snow is possible with this storm only in the higher elevations of eastern Pennsylvania and northwestern New Jersey,

The National Weather Service forecast calls for rain, mainly after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, with a high temperature near 54 degrees. Rain could be heavy at times (1 to 2 inches) on Tuesday night, but the low temperature will be about 53 degrees. Southeast wind at 14 to 22 mph is in the forecast.

On Wednesday, the high will be near 55 degrees, and another 1 to 2 inches of rain is possible.

The sun should return for a breezy Thanksgiving Day with a high near 38 degrees.
