What's Happening In Southern Ocean County This Weekend


SATURDAY - Walk for Autism Speaks, 9 a.m., Veterans Park, Bayville. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10am.  Come walk and enjoy a family fun filled day with a bounce house, a giant slide, the Home Depot Kids workshop, face painting and more. 

SATURDAY  - So Long To Summer Flea Market and Bake Sale, Associated Humane Societies/Popcorn Park Zoo,
9 a.m. to 3 p.m., One Humane Way, Lacey Township. Many of the animals available for adoption will be showcased.

SUNDAY - 22nd Annual Governor's Fishing Tournament at Island Beach State Park. The registration fee is $20 for ages 18 and up. Registration for ages 13-17 is $5. Registration is free for children 12 and under. Tournament anglers may be asked to verify their compliance with the New Jersey Saltwater Recreational Registry Program.  They must be registered before participating in the event.  To register, go to http://www.nj.gov/dep/saltwaterregistry/ and follow the instructions on the page.

SUNDAY - 30th Annual Chowderfest,
11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Ninth and Taylor avenues, behind Bay Village, Beach Haven. Visitors who purchase VIP tickets for $50 get into the red and white tasting tents an hour earlier, and receive a T-shirt. Regular tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children. Both tickets entitle visitors to unlimited chowder tasting.
