@Spooner, I think that even you would admit that I am anything but coy. I believe that yourRead More suggestion of a satellite Superintendent is ridiculous. Was he also using his 3,700 mile a year Denali to make the stones throw sojourn? Brower will not have to to testify about the phone calls; but it won't look good if she doesn't . Or, she could and throw Habel under the bus. Then again, he might throw her under the bus. What is really important is what discovery is acceptable under rules of evidence and what so many witnesses will testify to , if in fact, there is a trial.
JENNY JONES June 19, 2013 at 07:42 pm
110 days is about all he worked? how can that be ?he is supposed to be the superintendent..i dontRead More understand how someone can be paid so much and not be there! the whole system is a mess
anonymous June 20, 2013 at 12:08 am
When will people learn that greed and corruption do not pay they are self serving and anything youRead More gain you will lose in the end. anonymous
proud June 12, 2013 at 03:02 am
You don't help pay the salary -- you do pay it. Coranato is a hot dog on a roll.
Ashley Rose June 12, 2013 at 11:41 am
You could be insulted or you could realize that there are some that are unprofessional and use theirRead More position to profit in the sale of these prescriptions illegally. Then there are some who do it legally by over prescribing and don't care whether they are assisting in the disease of addiction.
Teresa Cioffi June 12, 2013 at 08:13 pm
There is a DOCTOR that lives around the corner from me DEA ( not stafford popo) have been there 3Read More times shes still dealing!!!!!!!!!!!

Does the private ambulance company floating around town still take the majority of calls or do ourRead More volunteers?
Mark June 11, 2013 at 01:09 am
The private company, Quality Medical Transport, handles 100% of 9-1-1 calls Monday-Friday fromRead More 0600-1800. Barnegat First Aid answers mutual aid calls into surrounding communities during that time. The Volunteers cover their town from 1801-0559 Monday-Friday, and around the clock on Saturday and Sunday.
Ray June 11, 2013 at 12:31 pm
The First Aid and Fire Dept. deserve good equipment. They save Barnegat a lot of money and they liveRead More in town. They are the best.

Great Job by the BPD. They were able to arrest the person who threatened them with a knife withoutRead More the use of deadly force. That guy is lucky he wasn't in Waretown.
Frank Karol June 5, 2013 at 12:42 pm
Good job George

Greed will be the death of us all. Take a step back and really look at your life, focus on what youRead More have and not what you do not. Stop spending all your time and money trying to impress people you dont even know by buying expensive overpriced cars and flashy jewelry. If you think back on your best day of your life or your happiest moment in life I will bet it did not cost you a dime. Time is what is truly valuable and you can not buy it so make it count. This poor lady may lose ten years of her life due to not thinking she had enough. Dont let this happen to you anonymous

Oh come on its not like he was texting and driving! He had a few drinks "in the AM" I'mRead More sure he thought it was a walk in the park compared to a moped! Besides he only ruined one family its not like he blew up a marathon or something! His daady should be proud of his offspring and what he's accomplished! I'm sure the Grosso family feel the same way.....
Joey Joe May 23, 2013 at 12:00 pm
To say the least this guy obviously has a drinking problem... how many more DUI's will it take forRead More the courts to realize that he needs to dry out in jail... So sad that somebody had to die because of this irresponsible drunk.
JENNY JONES May 23, 2013 at 03:58 pm
really common sense could have prevented this...tell you what tho summers here and i am afraid toRead More have a beer and drive....
Ann Powers May 20, 2013 at 12:54 pm
I will never understand why taxpayer $$$ go to police campaigns, such as this, when there are soRead More many other pressing needs/problems. Why do police have to get paid extra to enforce our laws? BTW, enforcing the hands-free law, esp. on texters, would be a great place to start.
Teresa Cioffi May 22, 2013 at 01:11 pm
The heroin and pill problem here would be a great place to start.
Jim B May 22, 2013 at 10:33 pm
I was going to get into a battle of wits here with Ann's comment..but no use going to battle with anRead More unarmed person.....MAYBE..they are trying to save some lives..AND..the traffic stops they are making is giving them probabl cause to make contact with the driver which many times leads to other arrests..such as our drug problem,,,
Sue@theshore May 13, 2013 at 12:57 am
Do Not release these people back on the street!!!!

ICE is involved? Will he go to jail or just back to whence he came?
Jim B May 13, 2013 at 07:57 pm
Throw him in jail...serve his time...make it well known what he is in for while he is in jail..thenRead More throw him back over the fence if there is anything left to him.!

Ahh, just another weekend down at Seaside. Nice to see that everything is back to normal.Read More Thousands of people came to Seaside and if this is the worst thing that happened, then I guess it was a good weekend. Hope everyone had a better MDW that this guy had!

Did anyone involved have an over the limit BAL (blood alcohol content)? And why did the 3rd guy run?
Hummingbird May 28, 2013 at 12:44 am
Everyone is so fast to blame the driver. The driver will get a ticket and then be sued by the personRead More he hit. But what about the guys crossing a highway in the middle of the road ( not at a light) in the dark. What happen to jay walking laws?
Tom May 28, 2013 at 05:07 pm
There needs to be tall concrete barriers installed on 72 like the ones on route 37 ones thatRead More pedestrians cannot climb over. This needs to be done also for safety of drivers drivers going 55mph + are not looking for someone crossing a 6 lane highway in that area. There needs to be barriers installed so that cars do not loose control and cross into the opposing lanes. There is even no curb too close and congested of an area not to have barriers.
Susan May 27, 2013 at 11:02 am

Who is the Gov kidding, slashing police departments statewide. Forcing officers to work shortRead More handed, forced OT and lets not forget the union busting Camden Metro. I guess it's an election year. Please don't believe the smoke and mirrors from Gov Christie
George May 22, 2013 at 12:00 am
Relax C.C will be the Gov. of NJ. At this time no candidate with a set of .... will run againstRead More C.C. meaning Sweeney Cody. They will just blow smoke in the air. If they thought the people of NJ did not want him as Gov. why let Buono run?????????? She still can not get contributions that would make this a fair fight.

I'm always amazed at the correlation between a lack of education, and opinions. It seems that theRead More more opinionated someone is, the less they seem to actually know. http://library.med.utah.edu/WebPath/TUTORIAL/GUNS/GUNSTAT.html Quote: "In the U.S. for 2010, there were 31,513 deaths from firearms, distributed as follows by mode of death: Suicide 19,308; Homicide 11,015; Accident 600." Look at all those firearms deaths: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/29/Causes_of_death_by_age_group.png

YellowBird... You FINALLY wrote one sentence that makes sense. It was a terrible tragedy &Read More sending blessings for the child. Perhaps you should've just left it at that. Most of your other comments had me wondering what planet you're from. And thank you for turning off your cap lock.

She has been found safe.
Dame Bridgid May 9, 2013 at 11:11 pm
Thank goodness!

I'm so happy she's been found. If it was one of my kids, I'd be alternately hugging her and yellingRead More at her. I guess most parents would. Glad for a happy ending here.
Grunt May 10, 2013 at 09:06 pm
Lucky for her that predators like Castro in Cleveland didn't come upon her!
Fellow Bayvillian May 11, 2013 at 02:24 pm
On the same day a man in a silver pick up truck tried to call my son over to his vehicle. My son wasRead More walking home from his bus stop off Hickory Lane and the man was driving towards him, he apparently pulled so hard to the right, my son thought he was drunk and was going to hit him. The truck was at such an angle that the driver called to my son from his drivers side window and not across the passenger seat. My son ran home and called his father, who stayed on the phone with him until he arrived home. I was home 15 minutes later and the Berkeley police were there, they took descriptions. I believe in the good of people and thought maybe the guy was just trying to ask him something. Other neighbors who saw the police at my home , called me so I explained the situation. Apparently there has been a person by same description and vehicle "following" behind the elementary school bus and of course stopping every time the bus let off kids...could he be watching to see who is met by a parent or walks home alone? I wonder why this wasn't posted on the Berkeley Patch. It could have been nothing, but at least give us a fighting chance.
Joe Vacca May 11, 2013 at 02:35 pm
the reason why I said it was an incomplte story was , that it was. there are many ways to convey aRead More story, but this one was on the TV newses, and there was no follow up. except she was OK, whish I`m glad. but like the Cleveland ohio abductions nothing was done for 10 years, and they (the police) are all denying they were not notified. all this news story needed was that it was a family problem, and that all is well now.
Melinda Russell May 7, 2013 at 03:36 pm
sounds like this guy is on drugs (or more likely "out of" drugs) - did they bother to testRead More him?
anonymous May 7, 2013 at 07:28 pm
Man this guy is lucky it was not my mom or sister i would be waiting for him to get out of jail. OldRead More or young I would make sure this idiot trembled with fear the next time he went to intimidate some woman in a car. I truly have no tolerance for this kind of behavior and one day it will get me locked up but not today because i wasn't there.
Teresa Cioffi June 6, 2013 at 11:54 am
Is that all ? Drop these cops in Newark or Camden lol see how they do then
