So why do the parents keep reproducing and bringing kids into this World when they KNOW they can'tRead More afford them? Yeah lets blame outsourcing instead of these lazy slobs who think 10 minutes of pleasure is ok as long as society picks up the tab. (Obamacare) Thanks liberal idiots
Gina April 24, 2014 at 06:25 pm
Unfortunately for tax payers who are not on welfare... To the people on welfare - more kids, means aRead More bigger paycheck! When everything is free.. Prenatal care, delivery costs at the hospital, health insurance, baby formula, diapers, daycare.. So you can go BACK to work... COST A FORTUNE. All items I listed above are 100% paid for for people on welfare. And for most, all of this stuff is given to single mothers with multiple kids. (Which would classify the children as 'living in poverty').... I agree with helping people get on their feet.. But I know lots of people who've been on welfare and get everything for free and a check every month (cash) and if they add another child to their family.. They get more $! They've been on welfare for YEARS!! If ANYONE got all that for free, WHY NOT have more kids?? They aren't paying for it, the state is. Here I am, my next child will cost me 'out of pocket' ONLY $6500! Only??? Lol makes ya think twice about having more!! THANKS OBAMA CARE! Asshole...
Brian White April 24, 2014 at 06:32 pm

During public comment, a BHW resident asked about the funding that has so far been DENIED by ourRead More insurance company which was supposed to REPAY the costs to build the extravagant community center projects approved by this mayor and council. The resident was swiftly CORRECTED by Mr Moran as receiving misinformation on the subject. Mr Moran is correct. We ALL have received misinformation on this topic. But not by the newspapers or "other sources" he referred to but out of Mr Moran's own mouth at multiple twp meetings. Mr Moran would like you to believe his words are being mischaracterized. Perhaps he should remember these meetings are televised and archived on the twp website so it leaves him little room to dispute what we're hearing and seeing him say. Mr Moran stated at THIS meeting we have received around $140k so far from our insurance claim on the damaged Millcreek center but also states we haven't signed off on that money for fear of losing future appeals to receive more. So we've received NOTHING. He states we are waiting on Fema money. Waiting means we've received NOTHING. The only money we know we have received is a $250k donation from Alec Baldwin but that is certainly shy of the 2.3 MILLION dollars they've approved to construct the TWO new centers. So which is it, Mr Moran, because you can't have it both ways. Either you have the money or you don't. You can be as creative as you want to with your words but nothing you say will ever detract from the "jumping the gun" actions taken by this mayor and council where these centers are concerned. But don't take my word for it. Roll the beautiful bean footage of all of the previous twp meetings from this year and watch yourself as you tell us conflicting information and then explain to us again how we're mischaracterizing ANYTHING that's coming out of your own mouth.
Mike Mazzucca April 24, 2014 at 01:55 pm
So let's look at the math, I think we need to look at the numbers to put it all into perspective.Read More We've received $140k. On average, loss recovery has been anywhere from 0% to 25%. The % received has to be about 28% or more because Mr. Moran also stated that we did not meet our excess loss coverage which was $500k. This means the loss has to be a % that when calculated would fall below $500k mark, so mathematically taking the $140k received and divided by the % received 28% gives you $500k exactly. If FEMA gives you 90% of that number, the loss of the old building not new ones, which Mr. Moran “hopes” the twp. will receive, that's only $450k and that amount will be reduced by what the carrier paid out, ($140k) so max amount that could be received would only be $450k, plus what Baldwin gave, $250k now you have a total of $700k that you can possibly get. This all again is predicated on an “if”, according to Mr. Moran. But wait there's more. Between lawyers and Engineers at $100/hr (I wish) we can be assured that those costs would accumulate to $50k easily. $2.3M less $700k plus $50k = $1.65M. How is that even close to being paid for by grants and insurance? The answer, it's not. Who is going to get that bill for the difference, the tax payers are. I can go all day long at this. The facts don’t lie Mr. Moran. Also for the record, cashing that check for $140k will not negate the potential claim, nor disqualify you from appealing the outcome of the claim. Cashing the check does not constitute agreement of the settlement of the claim. They need a signature to do that, my understanding is, that’s the law. The council should strongly consider putting these centers on hold now that they know they can't afford them and wait until there is funding. Needs vs. Wants.

I don't disagree with you that we're becoming less and less a free country but it's wrong to blameRead More democrats alone. It wasn't dems alone that passed the patriot act. It hasn't been dems alone that have been re-uping it since it was passed the first time. On how bad Hillary will be as a president. Every president is bad in some ways. Reagan raised taxes more than a dozen times. Bush took us to war on two fronts with no way to pay for it. Clinton signed DOMA and DADT. Obama gave away the farm in order to get the Affordable Care Act passed. Papa Bush said that atheists shouldn't be considered Americans. Sure Hillary will be a bad president in some ways.... they are all bad in some way. I can tell you this much though, any president is going to be a worse president when the publicly stated goal of the opposition is to obstruct that president at any and all opportunities. The dems did it to Bush. The republican'ts are doing it to Obama. It's like Palestine and Israel, they'll fight to the death out of spite and habit, neither one of them knowing which one threw the first punch and not caring because winning is the only goal. What America needs are citizens that go into government for the good of the country instead of the good of their party.
Michael Hipp April 24, 2014 at 03:03 pm
Oh, one last point on your last post B. Dub. "Hillary presidency combined with a DemocraticRead More Congress." Ain't gonna happen. Republicant's have gerrymandered the states to absolute death. They have the House for the foreseeable future and they have a good chance at getting the Senate. I can't guarantee you who's going to win in 2016 but I can very well guarantee you that no one party will take executive and legislative branches, both.

@ eddie, I wouldn't mention any specific phone-calling service in case any other arseholes areRead More looking for tips. But for better or worse, those calls are traceable. They have "add-ons" that can fool your friends, but certainly not the NSA. BTW, that phone service was bought by Microsoft a couple of years ago- so much for any illusion of confidentiality. By using it, you "opt in" to give up your privacy, just like with G-mail. Using a computer to make a prank call is a dumb move in itself. Any computer transmits a wealth of information. Non-smart phones are a lot less traceable than anything else. Have you ever seen how many items advertisers and other web sites use to uniquely identify your computer? They can't tell your name but track your unique computer. It's called "computer fingerprinting." As soon as you give your name at a web site they track, they've got you. Check this site sometime to see how unique your computer is-- https://panopticlick.eff.org/ .... I suspect that nobody's putting much effort into tracing this call, because in the big scheme of things, they've got more serious things to deal with. (Unfortunately, unlike our local PDs.) Shame this idiot got so much publicity from his crime. I think the glorifying news "perp walk" should be stopped in virtually all cases.

40 Layoffs are not a budgetary matter. You don't just realize there is a budget problem and layoffRead More 40 people. It's good to see that the board of education is as transparent as our town council is. Declining enrollment? They didn't know this at the beginning of the year? They realized it now? How incredibly ridiculous is this? While I do not have kids in the school system, I think that it's just another example of poor leadership with the wrong people on the bus....and we need to get those people off.
