"Pink Out Point Beach" to Help Fight Cancer

Point Beach downtown stays open later, starting today, and donates towards cancer fight

"Pink Out Point Beach" is starting today, which means later hours and a chance to help fight breast cancer. Many Point Pleasant Beach merchants will be open until 8 p.m. in the downtown area of Arnold and Bay avenues and donating a portion of their proceeds from noon until 8 p.m. to the American Cancer Society. "Pink Out Point Beach," coordinated by the Point Beach Chamber of Commerce, runs from tonight, (Friday, Oct. 5) through Halloween, Oct. 31. Southern Ocean County's Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Resigns

Five year Executive Director Rick Reynolds to pursue future opportunities

The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce Board has announced the resignation of Rick Reynolds as executive director of the 12th largest Chamber of Commerce in the state. There are currently no immediate plans to replace the executive director. "We thank and congratulate Rick for his tenure at the chamber," said President Chris Schwab, 'It has been a pleasure to have served with him." Reynolds has been a  long time chamber member and past president before assuming duties as the Executive Director in 2007. His resignation became effective July 25, 2012. The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce was established in 1914 and is beginning to plan for the organizations upcoming 100th Anniversary. The chamber is looking to connect with …

Diverse Barnegat Businesses to Be Featured Wednesday at Business Expo

Ocean Professional Theatre Company, Barnegat's air filtering and senior care businesses and more, will offer information at Southern Ocean County Chamber Business Expo.

For the 22nd year, the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce will kick off the season with its Business to Business Expo, giving new and long-time businesses in the Southern Ocean County area a chance to network. The free event will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9 at St. Mary's Parish Center, 100 Bishop Lane off of McKinley Avenue in Manahawkin. Lori Pepenella, Chamber Destination marketing director, said a wide variety of small to mid-size business representatives will be attending. Ceremonial ribbon cutting in Ship Bottom sets off official start to the summer season on LBI

Dozens gathered in Ship Bottom on Saturday morning as the Ocean County Chamber of Commerce hosted its first Ceremonial Season Beach Opening Event, signaling the official start to summer on Long Beach Island. Chris Schwab, president of the Chamber of Commerce, explained that Long Beach Island hosted a similar event many years ago, and he felt that with a positive economic outlook for the coming summer, it would be fitting to bring back the ribbon cutting. “Rentals are up this season,” said Schwab, indicating that the increased rentals will most likely result in giving local businesses a boost.
