BARNEGAT POLICE REPORT: Police Recover Stolen Mercedes C300

Other arrest for DWI reported.

A 35-year-old Pennsylvania man has recently been arrested in Barnegat after Township police found him in possession of a stolen car. On March 14th at 10:00 p.m., Patrolman Nicholas Dapuzzo arrested Brad Gunn, 35, of Clearfield, PA for receiving stolen property after he was stopped in a 2010 silver Mercedes C300 on Seneca Blvd in Waretown. Dapuzzo made contact with Gunn, the lone occupant of the vehicle, at which time Gunn claimed to own the vehicle but not to have a registration or insurance card. After a brief investigation, Dapuzzo discovered a registration and insurance card in the name of Linda Lewis of Clearfield, PA. A records check revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Clearfield, PA earlier on March 14th. Gunn …

BARNEGAT POLICE REPORT: Youth Arrested for Possession of Marijuana

Another Barnegat youth was charged with driving while intoxicated.

A 17-year-old Barnegat man was recently arrested and charged with  possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. The juvenile's vehicle was stopped  Dec. 27 at 10:15 p.m. on Village Drive for operating with no headlights. During the stop, Ptl. Robert Armstrong was granted consent to search the vehicle. Ptl. Armstrong's K9 partner, Bullet, indicated the presence of drugs, which were then recovered by Ptl. Armstrong. Recovered were 19 individually wrapped bags of marijuana as well as three larger bags of marijuana with a total weight of nearly 90 grams. Drug paraphernalia was also recovered. Barnegat Driver Hit Utility Pole And Left The Scene, Police Say

The incident resulted in a DWI and a hit-and-run charge

An intoxicated driver hit a utility pole and damaged landscaping outside of a home on Allison Way late last month, according to the latest from the Barnegat Police Department. On May 28 at 5 p.m. police said James Ryan, 47, of Barnegat, ran his corvette into a pole while drunk at the wheel, then left the scene in what they described as a "hit and run" incident.  Patrolman Chris Ebert had responded to the area to investigate a report that a black Chevrolet Corvette had struck a utility pole, police said. With the help of eyewitnesses, Ebert located the corvette in the garage of a Benjamin Drive residence, police said, then through further investigation, Ebert was able to determine that Ryan had been operating the vehicle at the time of the …

Barnegat Police Search Leads To Drug Arrest

The search followed an arrest of Barnegat resident on an assault charge after a dispute, police say.

Police responded to a call regarding a dispute last Thursday, and ended up also arresting a Barnegat man on a drug possession charge, in addition to a simple assault charge, according to the latest from the Barnegat Police. Michael Connolly, 27, of Barnegat was charged with simple assault on May 24 at 1:20 p.m., after the police responded to Connolly's Mizzen Drive address for a dispute, the police report said. After Patrolman Sarah Girgenti made the arrest, members of the Investigative Division conducted a consent search of Connolly's residence during which they discovered suboxone, which is a prescription medication meant to treate opiate addiction, anabolic steroids and hypodermic syringes, police said. Barnegat Man Charged With False Report To Police

The man's allegations that a local woman stole money from his vehicle turned out to be a false report, police say.

A Barnegat man was arrested yesterday, at 4:00 p.m., for filing a false police report and falsely implicating another. Ronald J. Kleinfield, 46, of Barnegat, filed a report with the Barnegat Police Department on April 15, alleging that a female Barnegat resident had stolen $600 from his motor vehicle on March 6th. Officers took a report regarding the alleged theft and forwarded the case to agency detectives. Detective Maryann Cirulli investigated the case and determined that Kleinfield had actually loaned the money to the female subject and had filed the police report in the hopes that it would expedite the return of the borrowed funds, police said. Barnegat Township police cancel Silver Alert

Barnegat Township reports that the Silver Alert issued earlier today for a missing 77-year-old Barnegat man has been cancelled. Anthony Granese, 77, of the Mirage development in Barnegat, was located in his car in South Brunswick about an hour ago, according to police scanner reports. The alert was issued yesterday. Granese had last been seen at Island Beach State Park at 4:30 p.m., when he approached a Berkeley Township police officer looking for directions to the southbound Garden State Parkway. Man Arrested for Eluding Police

A young man on a dirt bike jumped the curb and tried to get away, police say

According to the lastest report from the Barnegat Township Police, a local resident riding a dirt bike too fast tried to get away from the police and was arrested last Thursday. On March 22, at 9:00pm, Sgt. Jason Carroll arrested Michael Cammarota, 19, of Barnegat, after Carroll observed Cammarota operating a dirt bike recklessly on residential streets, said Lt. Keith Germain of Barnegat Police Department. Carroll was in the area of Ravenwood Blvd and Chestnutway Circle to assist officers on an unrelated call when he observed a dirt bike with no lighting operated by a helmetless Cammarota traveling down Ravenwood Blvd at a high rate of speed, Germain said. Barnegat Men Busted During Drug Deal

Police arrest two after intercepting sale of Percocet behind Spirits Bar

Barnegat police arrested two township residents yesterday after catching them in the middle of a drug sale. Members of the Barnegat Township Police Department's investigative division approached Robert Gunnell, 31, and Ryan Anderson, 29, at about 9 p.m. after seeing them acting suspiciously behind Spirits Bar on Route 9, said Barnegat Police Lt. Patrick Shaffery. The officers, unnamed because the incident involved a narcotics investigation, discovered Gunnell was distributing Percocet to Anderson, and both men were arrested. Anderson was charged with possession and released on a complaint summons. The following items were recently released by the Barnegat Police Department: Saturday, May 28: Ptl. Gregory Martinez arrested and charged Holly Mull, 21, of Old Bridge for possession of Xanax, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia after discovering the contraband in Mulls possession.
