ReplySteven, the board my be an elected position, but they make absolutely nothing! They get to take all of this abuse for free. Lucky them. BTW, if everyone here has all of the answers, why don't any of you run?

ReplyMy personal belief is that if a candidate refuses a debate, especially a non-partisan one like the League of Woman Voters, that candidate should not be reelected. What is he afraid of? Why won't he debate?

ReplyDon't know if it's true or not, but rumor has it that Big Lots donated $5,000 to go toward the fireworks. Anyone have any info on that?

Ha, ha, ha, good one Ray, that was really funny...Wait, you're not joking??? You mean to tell me you really think 4th of July fireworks should be cancelled? Every other town in the area has fireworks, so for the most part, people stay in their own town to watch fireworks. It's not like we're NYC and people travel just for our fireworks.

ReplyAre these the same seniors who bought 300,000 homes in the Mirage and Heritage? Of course they can afford it, they would just like you to think that they can't!

ReplyI would like to see something like an indoor farmer's market at Genuardi's. I've been in them in PA, and what they have are things like a butcher, a vegetable stand, a bakery, a juice bar, a seafood counter all in one building. I'm probably not explaining it correctly, but it absolutely amazing. All fresh foods in one building. No canned goods or packaged goods, so it's not a supermarket, it's just individual businesses in one building.

Kristie, Mrs. Woods (Barnegat Superintendent) stated above that there was an error in the article, the theatre company is going to be housed at the high school, the Edwards school is not being refurbished.

"Statewide, the SDA assessments will climb by more than $12 million to $33.9 million, a 60 percent increase over this year’s total.
The Barnegat district in Ocean County is seeing a $367,000 increase to more than $1 million, the largest total in the state. The debt-service assessment is tripling for Paramus, now facing a bill of close to $200,000.
Both districts were essentially flat-funded under Christie’s proposed aid distribution for next year, each receiving increases of less than 1 percent."
