Thank you, Mr. Thomas for your confidence. The question isn't that of Patch allowing me to do this. I am pretty sure I do have what it takes, I've done such stories before. One resource though gets pretty scarce at times in daily journalism -- time -- the time I would need to dedicate to each of these stories, in the interest of thoroughness and fairness. Being totally honest with you guys here! I am glad Graelyn has already done some stories on on township committee's time records, if that's what you are saying. Once again, I really appreciate all the suggestions, and keep them coming. I will do my best. Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks, Eric. While I cannot make a commitment to every important story idea my readers are throwing at me, I will definitely consider this as something else to look into. :)

Just got off the phone with the director of recreation Jean Broadbent, who told me as far as the leagues in Barnegat go, those include lacrosse, boys’ baseball, softball, a challenger baseball league, basketball boys and girls, a challenger basketball league, soccer, wrestling, football with cheerleading, adult softball, senior softball. As far as the number of teams, that changes every year, and in order to estimate a number of people participating in some way in recreation, I'd need to contact every single one of these leagues and ask them, and I am not going to do that, sorry. Hope this helps you make an informed decision.

Bob, it's a valid question. See my reply on the article -- but baiscally I will look into it in a follow-up story and will do my best to give the readers the breakdown, which should be absolutely doable. Thanks again.

I will definitely look into doing that, sure. From what I have seen, Meadow Edge is the only one in the fund's history, though according to Open Space Committee officials, the township did actually work to acquire some parkland through the county -- but that wasn't done with the money from the Open Space Fund. I was planning to provide a follow-up on this issue anyhow, and will definitely look more closely into what the fund had been used for, and will share what I find.

Well, in that case we want the same things. I am still transitioning into this new role, with Patch pulling me away sometimes for corporate training and such things -- that's why, for example I can't always be at the meetings personally, though this will end soon. Once all the transitioning is done, I will try even harder. I was one of Graelyn's many fans while she was editor, and I'd hate to let her down by doing an inferior job. Thank you.

Mike, is what you're seeing on the site today all about ice cream and bagels? Really? No news stories? Has Patch not posted at least one article from every single municipal meeting posted the next day, in most cases, since late March when I took over-- three months ago, not six. Another note: a local editor has nothing to do with the look and the search function of the Patch site -- only actual content, and Patch experiments with such things all the time. Things like the Barnegat High School project -- things like that are my decision. You didn't like it? Well, guess what, Graelyn and I planned it together months before I was able to actually execute this. The move to Manahawkin? Not my decision, though I embrace it wholeheatedly, and I am sure Graelyn would have, too. I am sure I cannot change how you feel about my articles, nor do I want to try to, but I do want to address some of your accusations, that are just false, and frankly unfair.

Bob, if you're talking about the Laurel Oaks affordable housing development, the developer for that is Walters. As for the story, I will try my hardest to get to it. I realize that people want to know.

Hi Bob, I'll be totally honest, nope, I haven't gotten far with this story. We have been really busy with the elections, other news, and especially, the launch of our Manahawkin site, and this kind of a report takes a lot of time and effort that isn't always available when you're trying to put out several stories a day. This happens a lot in journalism and isn't that unsual. Though I really shouldn't make any promises, I want you to know that I am still keeping this on the back of my mind and still hoping to get to it eventually, once I transition into the role of an editor for a two-town Patch. You just might need to be way more patient than you -- or I -- thought would be necessary. Sorry!!

Hi Yohan -- it's great that you're commenting on Patch -- it always makes us happy. It's just that you have to watch what you say, direct insults and threats, no matter who they are addressed to, are against the Patch policy. I am sure you can think of another way to express your thoughts/feelings on this. Thank you so much.
