On the article Buying Local in Barnegat Locations Announced

Did they say why...perhaps it's because Barnegat doesn't encourage businesses or makes it too hard for them to do business here??

ReplyShouldn't the zoning officer ride around the communities and issue citations to homeowners also? Seems to me that is the job of the zoning officer! Why should it be neighbors turning on neighbors?

On the article Buying Local in Barnegat Locations Announced

ReplyI would "buy local"...IF there was a place to buy...for starters, we have NO grocery store...and then the only choice is Shop Rite, which doesn't have good produce or meat...we need a Stop and Shop, or Kings or Wegmans...And how many more years until Barnegat Commons is even started?? I would rather have the trees than a pile of dirt!! When looking for businesses to fill that location or the old Genuardi's site, how about a Dunkin Donuts, Panera or Atlanta Bread, Chik-fil-a or Boston Market, Turning Point or Top Tomato or Trader Joes...we have many senior communities here and we older residents would love a healthier choice and one with real home cooking for takeout...we don't need another hamburger place, pizza place or Chinese takeout!! Come on Barnegat...get on the stick and bring some good ratables to the community!!

ReplyGreat idea...It's nice to see boats on the water again, but without narrative or text of what is going on in the bay at various locations, I think they are missing the mark!

Could it be because FEMA has not included the TR portion of 08735...I know that's Lavallette's PO code but it is also the zip code that FEMA uses for the entire barrier island...I had an argument with the FEMA guy for a half hour when he was telling me all my documentation was WRONG because I get my mail sent to the Normandy PO (08739)...he said my tax bill from TR was WRONG because it had 08739...also claimed my deed was WRONG because it said Dover Twsp...FEMA doesn't have a clue about this area!!

I couldn't agree more!! Chief Mastronardy once again goes above and beyond!! Wish he would run for Mayor...he'd clean up the town in a heartbeat!! Where were all our illustrious elected officials?? In hiding, afraid to face their constituents...

ReplyIf you don't have dunes and at least 100 feet of beach in FRONT of the seawall, it will do ABSOLUTELY no good!! Probably will do more damage than anything else. Ask Dr. Miller of Stevens University before you assume this will work...he did a great presentation recently explaining the various ways of building protection...

Didn't FEMA already do this? Why not get their data instead of spending money unnecessarily?
Put that money to better use...there must be a thousand ways to do that!
