Medford Man Charged With Using Hidden Camera To Tape Juveniles In Bedroom

Incidents happened in Long Beach Township, involved three female juveniles and one adult female


A Burlington County Man was arrested today and charged with using a hidden video camera in the bedroom of a Long Beach Township home to tape four unsuspecting females,  Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato said.

Charles Catalano, 47, New Freedom Road, Medford, was charged with one count of second-degree production of child pornography, one count of third-degree invasion of privacy depicting nudity and three counts of fourth-degree invasion of privacy, Coronato said.

The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office received the original complaint and referred the matter to Ocean County, since the alleged incidents occurred in Long Beach Township, said Coronato.

Catalano’s arrest came after a cooperative investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Long Beach Township Police Department, he said.

“The cooperating authorities recovered the video recording device and recorded footage as evidence in support of the charges,” Coronato said.

Catalano – a Tier 2 sex offender under Megan’s Law  - was arrested at his home this morning, with the help of the Medford Township Police Department. Ocean County Superior Court Judge Francis Hodgson set Catalano’s bail at $150,000, with no ten percent option. He is lodged in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, said Coronato.
