Ocean Acres Woman Wakes Up To Find Boyfriend Standing Over Her With Baseball Bat

Barnegat man lodged in Ocean County Jail in lieu of $250,00 cash bail, police said.

A Barnegat Township man is lodged in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail after police charged him with aggravated assault after striking his girlfriend with a baseball bat.

Stafford Township police officers responded to a Breakers Drive home in the Ocean Acres section at 4:08 a.m. this morning on a report of a male who entered the house with a baseball bat and was involved in an altercation with a female resident, the police report states..
 
"Upon arrival Officer Robert Conforti separated the parties involved," according to the police report. "The female victim stated she had awakened to the shadow of her ex-boyfriend Robert Enochs standing above her with a baseball bat over his head." according to the police report.

When the woman screamed, Enochs jumped on her and covered her mouth. She was struck in the head with the bat, the police report states.

The victim's 30-year-old daughter her boyfriend and helped separate the two. When three other police officers arrived, Enochs was arrested and removed from the home, according to the police report.

"The victim had a lump on her forehead, a small laceration and a bruise on her arm," the report states. "During the investigation, a roll of duct tape was found on the floor next to the victim's bed and a spool of crafting wire was located on the bed. The victim stated those items did not belong to her."

The victim was taken by ambulance to Southern Ocean County Hospital for treatment.

Patrolman Robert Conforti charged Enochs - whose address is 145 Brighton Avenue in Barnegat - with aggravated assault, criminal attempt, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and burglary. He is lodged in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River on $250,000 bail, with no ten percent option, police said
