Long-Time Stafford Police Officer Michael Steinhauer Dies

At Tuesday night's council meeting, Steinhauer will be posthumously promoted to an honorary Class I Special Law Enforcement Officer

The Stafford Township Police Department is mourning the loss of PSR Michael Steinhauer, a beloved public service officer.

PSR stands for Public Service Representative, a non-sworn personnel position in the Stafford police.

Steinhauer passed away Monday with his family at his bedside.

"Mikey was an inspiration to all of us and an exceptional member of this department. He will truly be missed and will always inspire us to be strong, as he was one of the strongest people any of us have ever known," according to the department.

At Tuesday night’s council meeting, Steinhauer will be posthumously promoted to an honorary Class I Special Law Enforcement Officer so that the department can honor him to the fullest extent.
